Meet Our Founders
Learn about the visionaries behind Alora and their mission to make education more accessible

David Cai
Co-founderI went to one of the best grammar schools in the country, and yet was still shocked at the difference in provision between state and private institutions. The Oxford application process also made me realise just how inaccessible it is to so many students around the country.
We cannot have students scared to apply to some of the best education opportunities in the world when they are more than capable of obtaining an offer. Through Co-founding Alora I want to remove barriers, and more than anything deliver a different mentality that can remove the ceiling for so many pupils from many different backgrounds.
"The challenges of tomorrow often seem so daunting, but nothing gets done when intimidation and fear overwhelms, and that's why we are committed to affecting real change, one lesson at a time."

Heloise
Co-founderI went to my local state school with less than 5 students applying to oxbridge each year and the few events accessible to us, to just to explain what oxbridge was, were limited to 20/230 students blocking so many motivated students from exploring this higher education path.
I believe so many more students could access better opportunities if they were more informed and confident about the experiences and options available to them and with Alora connecting them with students who have those opportunities we are on the right track.
Changing Education One Step at a Time
We want to help the next generation prepare for the challenges of tomorrow, with sessions designed to connect and inspire, delivered by world leading expertise within areas normally not accessible to a large proportion of the students.

Our panellists are among the highest-achieving students in their cohorts, and many are also creators who know how to engage young people and explain complex ideas clearly. This blend of academic credibility and strong communication has helped us deliver webinars that students connect with — and that schools trust.

Because our panellists have recently been through the same decisions, they offer advice that feels relatable, practical, and genuinely reassuring to students going through extremely stressful exam and application periods.
